About me
Hi! I'm so thrilled to be a new teacher this year! My background in education includes working as a student supervision aide, a junior high classroom aide, student teacher, and substitute teacher, which really gave me a deep appreciation for all the different ways kids learn. I earned my MMSN (Mild-Mod Support Needs) credential in June through the district partnership with Cal Lu. Along with this teaching credential, I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of New England in Maine.
Bringing a social work background into special education has definitely prepared me to look at the whole child. It’s been incredibly helpful in empathizing with students as it's allowed me to understanding behavior, the root causes of academic barriers, building genuine partnerships with parents, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. I’m really passionate about combining these two worlds! Outside of work, you can usually find me diving into history documentaries or listening to history-themed podcasts—huge history buff here! I have also enjoyed getting back into computer gaming after so many years being away from it, catching a movie, and just relaxing at home with my husband, Kevin, and our cats.

WWI & WWII History: On top of ancient history, I love learning about 20th-century history and diving into the details of the World Wars.
